Simpson Marine unveils largest ever lineup at SYS 2014

April 10, 2014 – Simpson Marine announced their largest display to date at the Singapore Yacht Show (SYS) 2014 from 10-13 April, including two luxury yachts from Italian-designed yacht brand Monte Carlo Yachts (MCY), which Simpson Marine has just signed an exclusive regional dealership with.

“We are very happy to have added Monte Carlo Yachts to the list of renowned yacht brands that we represent in Singapore and Southeast Asia,” said Mike Simpson, Group Managing Director, Simpson Marine. “As we celebrate 30 years of success in the yachting industry, we are committed to strengthen our position as the market leader by offering our clients the best service and experience, both in Singapore and the rest of Asia.”

This newly signed agreement complements Simpson Marine's ongoing exclusive representation of Azimut Yachts, a brand the company has represented in Asia for 27 years.

Going big at SYS

The yacht dealer and broker, which operates 13 offices throughout Asia, will have over 144 square metres of floating hospitality area and an on-water display of 17 boats, seven more than the previous show. Simpson Marine sold three boats as a result of the 2013 show and aims to do even better this year.

The lineup at SYS includes the multiple award-winning MCY 76, MCY 65, and MC 5, making their official debuts in Southeast Asia. Designed and built in Italy, the MCY collection is the work of renowned design house Nuvolari Lenard and offers the latest in yachting technology finished in refined, contemporary elegance with unprecedented levels of customisation.

Other highlights include the much-anticipated Magellano 43 from Azimut Yachts, which will be seen for the first time in Asia, and the Lagoon 52, which will be showcased for the first time in Singapore.

Best year ever

Yacht sales this past year have been upbeat for Simpson Marine, with the company achieving record sales for Azimut Yachts in Asia with orders in all categories including the Grande, Flybridge, S, Magellano and Atlantis collections. Sales of yachts over 60 ft have increased confirming that larger yachts are gaining popularity across the region. Beneteau and Lagoon also performed well, with significant increases in sales for boats across the range over the last year. These results, and the new agreement with MCY reinforce Simpson Marine's strength in the luxury yacht market.

Monte Carlo Yachts on board

The freshly-penned deal with Monte Carlo Yachts will help to broaden the yacht-builder’s reach into the Southeast Asian market and introduce a line of top-class, award-winning luxury yachts to yachting enthusiasts in the region. Under the new multi-year agreement, Simpson Marine will become the exclusive dealer for MCY in Southeast Asia, providing sales and service support from the dealer’s offices in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

“We are delighted to be working with Simpson Marine as our strategic partner to develop the market across Southeast Asia. Monte Carlo Yachts has had its eye on the Asian market for a while and see great opportunities here. Simpson Marine has the experience, coverage and market insights necessary to bring the Monte Carlo Yachts range to customers across the region,” said Carla Demaria, President, Monte Carlo Yachts.

The Monte Carlo Yachts Launch Party celebrating the launch of MCY in Southeast Asia will be held on Friday, 11th April 2014 from 7pm to 9pm on the MCY hospitality stand D4 to D6 at the Singapore Yacht Show.
